Burkheimer fly rods are respected as much as Sage's top end rods.  Kerry Burkheimer, the man behind the line of rods, has a passion for dry line steelheading much like myself.  He's even mentioned in Bill McMillan's book "Dry Line Steelhead" which had a big influence on the way I choose to pursue steelhead.

Washington State Steelhead

The Mt. St. Helens eruption is something I remember very well from my childhood.  My uncle was a long shoreman in Vancouver and brought my brother, sister and I bottles of ash that was scooped off the freighters in Vancouver harbour.  I've read about how the eruption wiped out a great river.  The Toutle looks like so many of my favourite Vancouver Island Rivers and it appears it held fish nearly all year long from this montage of photos put together by David Rice.  Very nostalgic!

PNW Fall Steelhead

South west Washington has a few nice summer run steelhead to chase in the fall.


If you're into steelheading, watch for Fly Fishing Fantasies' Paid in Full official trailer and the full length video due to be released within a matter of days/weeks.  Biased source says it's gonna be good.  It not only features some incredible steelheading, it also contains Skate U--a dry fly steelheading tutorial, some hilarious outtakes, and tons of awesome scenery.
